Wind, Waves and Water This two-day Festival includes the TD Canada Trust Semiahmoo Bay Regatta, the EPCOR International Kite Festival, Kidzone and the White Rock BIA Waterfront Market Place. During the last weekend in April, thousands of people take part in this fun-filled fundraising event for the White Rock South Surrey Community Foundation.

The 9th annual Festival of Wind, Waves and Water took place on April 26 and 27, 2008. More than 20,000 people attended this event, which raised more than $19,000 for the White Rock South Surrey Community Foundation.

The Festival includes four fun family events:

The TD Canada Trust Semiahmoo Bay International Regatta
More than 70 boats and 350 crew members took part in the weekend yacht races. With activities on both sides of the border in White Rock and Blaine, this was the most successful regatta yet. A team from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club won the West Marine Trophy for the best overall three-boat team.

The EPCOR International Kite Festival
Organized by the British Columbia Kiteflyers Association, this event draws kite enthusiasts from British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. There's plenty of action in the sky and a kite-making area for kids. With the help of the 907 Squadron Air Cadets, close to 500 children made kites at this year' event.

The White Rock BIA Waterfront Market Place
Sponsored by the White Rock Business Improvement Association and located on the Marine Drive waterfront, the market features dozens of vendors offering a wide range of products.

The Kidzone
Sponsored by Mardon and Campbell Insurance Brokers and supported by the White Rock Youth Ambassadors, the Kidzone features free activities for children attending the Festival.
